President Joe Biden didn’t miss an opportunity to take a swipe at former President Donald Trump amid the latter’s legal entanglements. On Wednesday, Biden released a video mocking Trump’s courtroom appearances, suggesting he’s “free on Wednesdays,” implying Trump’s preoccupation with various political prosecutions he is facing at the hands of Democrats.
The 14-second video had at least five jump cuts — likely meaning that the president could not make it through 14 seconds speaking without a mistake. Biden also claimed in the clip that Trump had “lost” the 2020 presidential debates to him and “is acting like he wants to debate me again. Well, make my day, pal. I’ll even do it twice.”
Donald Trump lost two debates to me in 2020. Since then, he hasn’t shown up for a debate.

Biden has also demanded several rules be imposed on the debate — for it to be held by his Democrat allies at CNN, for there to be no audience and for the microphone to be shut off immediately when a candidate’s speaking time is up. Trump, who has been demanding Biden debate him for several months now, immediately accepted the challenge and the parameters requested by the Biden campaign.
But Biden’s jabs didn’t stop there; he’s now leveraging Trump’s legal struggles for political gain by fundraising off the ongoing lawfare circus that his administration is allegedly taking part in.
The president’s campaign introduced a $32 T-shirt with the slogan “Free On Wednesdays,” capitalizing on Trump’s courtroom obligations.
Biden’s taunts come as Democrats employ lawfare tactics against Trump, hoping to tarnish his image and boost their electoral prospects. Despite their efforts, recent polls suggest Trump maintains a lead over Biden in crucial swing states among registered and likely voters.
Since April, Trump has been embroiled in a high-profile trial in a Manhattan courtroom, facing charges related to alleged falsification of business records. The indictment, brought by Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg, revolves around a payment made to a former adult film star who claimed an affair with Trump.
This isn’t the first time Biden has used Trump’s legal woes as fodder for jokes. At a recent fundraiser, Biden entertained attendees with quips about Trump’s financial troubles stemming from a separate lawfare case brought by New York Attorney General Letitia James. In that case, Trump was found liable for inflating his net worth to secure loans, resulting in a staggering $175 million bond.
Biden’s remarks underscore a troubling trend of politicizing the justice system for partisan gain. By mocking Trump’s legal battles and fundraising off them, Biden inadvertently reinforces the perception of Democrats weaponizing lawfare to silence political opponents.
