Disturbing video footage captured at the Texas border reveals a Border Patrol agent cutting through razor wire to create an entry point for illegal immigrants to cross into the American side.
This footage sheds light on the ongoing challenges posed by human smugglers, criminal gangs, potential spies, individuals with criminal records, and even those on terrorist watchlists who frequently exploit gaps between official ports of entry to enter the United States unlawfully.
In the video, a Border Patrol agent can be seen holding open a section of razor wire to assist approximately 15 to 20 individuals who were illegally brought across the Rio Grande in a motorboat.
In an effort to address the high volume of illegal crossings at the Texas-Mexico border, the state of Texas initiated the installation of razor wire barriers in key areas known for high levels of illegal border crossings.
The measure was implemented in January to deter migrants due to the perceived weaknesses in border policies under President Joe Biden. The goal of these barriers is to strengthen border security and discourage unauthorized entry into the U.S.
As reported by Bill Melugin of Fox News, the video footage captured the presence of razor wire on private property in Eagle Pass, Texas. The placement of razor wire in this specific area highlights the concerns surrounding border security and the need to protect private property.

Melugin tweeted, “The federal government’s position is that once migrants are on U.S. soil, under U.S. law, they need to be processed and cannot be repelled or turned away. Texas is taking a much different approach and has been physically blocking migrants under orders from Gov. Greg Abbott (R-TX).”
Melugin continued, saying, “This Border Patrol agent is likely just doing what he’s been told, but this will likely lead to more friction between Texas and the Feds, who have drastically different approaches at the border.”
Since the initiation of Operation Lone Star in March 2021, Abott’s office disclosed on Friday that the Texas Department of Public Safety and the Texas National Guard have successfully apprehended over 386,000 illegal immigrants and conducted over 30,000 criminal arrests. Among these arrests, over 28,000 felony charges have been filed.
On Friday, Abbott emphasized that law enforcement in Texas remains committed to collaborating in order to enhance border security.
