NFL legend Brett Favre has spoken out against Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy following a heated argument with President Donald Trump and Vice President JD Vance inside the Oval Office. The dispute, which played out on live television, led to Trump dismissing Zelenskyy from the meeting.
The confrontation erupted when Zelenskyy took issue with Vance’s comments about diplomacy. Trump, visibly frustrated, accused the Ukrainian leader of being disrespectful and ungrateful for U.S. support. The discussion quickly escalated into a shouting match, with both leaders talking over one another. Trump ultimately ended the meeting and later posted on Truth Social that Zelenskyy was “not ready for peace.”
This was a bit unreal to watch. A foreign leader speaking to a sitting U.S. President like this.

The post quickly gained traction, with former MLB pitcher John Rocker agreeing that the situation was shocking. Many Trump supporters on social media sided with Favre, while others defended Zelenskyy, pointing to Ukraine’s war efforts and previous expressions of gratitude.
After being dismissed from the meeting, Zelenskyy and his delegation remained in the West Wing before departing without further discussions. European leaders have largely backed Zelenskyy, voicing concerns over the future of U.S. support for Ukraine following the confrontation.
With no clear path forward in the negotiations, the diplomatic standoff between the Trump administration and Zelenskyy’s government has cast doubt on future U.S. aid and involvement in the conflict.
