Court Rules Against Biden Administration In Border Wall Dispute

Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton successfully blocked the Biden Administration from disposing of border wall materials ahead of President-elect Donald Trump’s inauguration. A federal judge issued the 30-day order during a December 27 hearing prompted by reports of auctioned materials.

Paxton’s office argued that the sales violated a May 2024 court ruling requiring federal funds allocated for the wall to be used as intended. The Biden Administration acknowledged the sales in court and agreed to halt further activity under the new order.

The judge also ruled that Texas has the right to obtain documentation ensuring compliance with both the May injunction and the latest restrictions. Any violations, including misrepresentations or further sales, could result in sanctions or contempt charges.

Coverage by KVIA highlighted Paxton’s response: “This decision ensures these materials won’t be wasted and can be used to secure our border.” He criticized the Biden Administration for allegedly attempting to obstruct Trump’s border initiatives.

The ruling highlights the ongoing conflict over border security policy as Trump’s administration prepares to take charge.
