DOGE Finds Millions Listed As 150 Years Old, Investigation Incoming

Elon Musk’s Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) has uncovered what he calls “the biggest fraud in history” within the Social Security Administration, identifying millions of accounts linked to individuals supposedly over 100 years old, with some appearing to be as old as 150.

The findings have already caused a leadership shakeup, as Acting Social Security Commissioner Michelle King abruptly resigned following disputes over access to agency records. The White House has nominated Frank Bisignano to lead the Social Security Administration moving forward.

Musk revealed the findings in an Oval Office briefing, pointing to records showing an overwhelming number of individuals listed as alive despite exceeding all known human lifespans. “Unless we have vampires collecting Social Security, something is seriously wrong here,” Musk said.

Social Security audits have previously identified data issues, with a 2023 review finding 18.9 million people listed as 100 or older without official death records. While the agency maintains that only a small fraction of those accounts are receiving benefits, the scale of unverified records has raised alarms.

DOGE is also investigating potential misuse of Social Security numbers, as past government audits have shown billions of dollars in reported earnings tied to deceased individuals. A separate probe is ongoing into Treasury payments after $4.7 trillion in transactions were found to be missing critical identification codes.

With Musk leading the charge, the administration is vowing to tighten oversight and eliminate waste. “This is just common sense,” Musk said. “If we don’t know where the money is going, it’s time to fix that.”
