Election fraud concerns have escalated in Ohio after a voter registration form written in Haitian Creole was flagged as illegal by the Clark County Board of Elections. Ohio Secretary of State Frank LaRose has warned election boards to be on high alert as the investigation into fraudulent registrations continues.
The form, submitted by a local applicant, was one of many questionable voter registrations uncovered in Clark County.
LaRose’s Election Integrity Unit has been investigating the source of the form and has uncovered a larger pattern of fraudulent registrations linked to Black Fork Strategies, a canvassing organization with a mission to build “long-term progressive power.”
Black Fork has been referred for prosecution in multiple counties across Ohio, as their canvassers have been caught submitting fraudulent voter registration forms. In one case, Hamilton County reported that a stack of forms submitted by a Black Fork canvasser appeared to be in the same handwriting, raising alarms.
LaRose has urged election boards to be particularly cautious when processing registration forms from third-party groups. His office is using various federal and state databases to ensure that non-citizens, including recent Haitian migrants in Springfield, are not able to vote illegally.
