GOP Says Dems Will ‘Pay the Price’ For Extravagant Bill

Senate Democrats completely ignored the solid wall of Republican opposition to their frivolous spending package and rammed it on through. With the tax increases that come with the $740 billion in new spending, the GOP says Democrats will pay the price in the November midterms.

When the economy is suffering a high rate of inflation, raising taxes and blaming others is a poor substitute for a sound fiscal policy.

In a statement, Republican National Committee Chair Ronna McDaniel warned that voters will exact revenge on Democrats for “raising taxes on families during a recession.” What’s more, the party had the nerve to label it the Inflation Reduction Act of 2022.

Leave it to President Joe Biden to come up with an even more ludicrous description of the seriously mislabeled package. He called it “bipartisan.”

Does he even know what the word means? In the Senate, 50 out of 50 Republicans gave a thumbs down to this travesty of spending.

Perhaps he meant that Sens. Joe Manchin (D-WV) and Kyrsten Sinema (D-AZ) finally remembered their party affiliation and caved to this social spending bill.

That’s still not bipartisan.

No worries for the president though. He assured the American people that the bill lowers inflation, cuts the deficit, reduces health care costs, and tackles the climate crisis. All of this while building the U.S.’s energy security and lightening the load for working families.

A whopping $400 billion is earmarked to be spent on the climate. There’s also an extension of subsidies to prop up Obamacare, and drug costs for seniors covered by Medicare will be limited to $2,000 per year.

And the IRS is about to be a massively larger and more powerful organization with a stunning 87,000 new agents to be hired. More audits and more hassles for small business and working families is not a great sales pitch, but that’s what the Democrats accomplished.

Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) summed it up best. The massive package is a “giveaway to the Democrats’ radical leftist base.” And what it gives away, it will take from middle-class Americans. Yes, Democrats will pay the price in November.
