According to official visitor logs reported on Saturday by the New York Post, Hunter Biden’s closest business associate, Eric Schwerin, made at least 19 visits to the Obama White House and other administration offices between 2009 and 2015. The visits all occurred as Joe Biden was serving as vice president, and included a personal meeting with Biden in the White House.
The latest reporting directly contradicts Joe Biden’s repeated claims that he never had any knowledge of Hunter’s business dealings.
Schwerin met with Joe Biden in the White House on November 17, 2010, when he was acting as president of Hunter’s investment fund Rosemont Seneca Partners. At other times, Schewerin met with close aides of Joe Biden and Jill Biden while he was working with Hunter on foreign deals worth millions of dollars in places like China.
The logs also revealed that Schwerin met with Kellen Suber, an executive assistant to Vice President Biden on August 22, 2011, just four days after Joe Biden arrived in China for critical meetings with Xi Jingping.
Schwerin met with aides of Joe Biden in March and May 2013, just before Hunter created BHR Partners with Chinese businessman Jonathan Li in June that year.
Former Assistant to Jill Biden Margaret Campbell told the Post that it was normal for Schwerin to visit the White House, in that he did “financial stuff” for the Biden family.
Sen. Ron Johnson (R-WI) responded to the report by observing that “not everyone” is entitled to have personal meetings with the vice president inside the White House. He said the media should be asking why Hunter Biden’s closest associates were part of that very exclusive group.
Johnson said the report is further evidence that Joe Biden has lied by claiming that he never discussed Hunter’s foreign dealings and demanded that the “corruption of Biden Inc.” be exposed.
The Post also reported that Schwerin had intimate access to information about Joe Biden’s personal finances. The infamous laptop abandoned by Hunter Biden contained emails showing Schwerin had signature access to Joe Biden’s financial accounts. The emails also discussed Joe Biden’s financial future after his time as vice president ended.
