Hurricane Victim Feels Abandoned By Biden’s Slow Response And Migrant Prioritization

In the wake of Hurricane Helene, an Asheville, North Carolina, resident is voicing his frustration with what he sees as a delayed and inadequate response from the Biden administration. Jordan Lanning, who appeared on Fox News’ “Jesse Watters Primetime,” criticized the administration for taking five days to deliver aid after the deadly storm wreaked havoc across the Southeast.

Lanning expressed disappointment that President Biden did not personally visit the hardest-hit areas, describing the federal government’s efforts as “too late.” He added, “They tell us what we need instead of listening to us.” His frustration reflects the growing anger among survivors who feel left behind by the administration’s slow response.

The federal government has offered a one-time $750 payment for storm survivors’ immediate needs, but Lanning says that amount is insufficient for the many who lost everything. “There’s people that have lost their homes and everything,” Lanning said, emphasizing the devastating impact of the storm.

Further anger stems from the government’s focus on assisting migrants, while hurricane victims struggle. “They’re putting other people before their own. I feel betrayed,” Lanning said, referring to the billions of dollars spent on migrant assistance. He believes Americans impacted by the hurricane deserve more attention and support from their government.

With 132 people dead and nearly 600 still missing, Hurricane Helene has devastated communities in the Southeast. The storm caused widespread damage, and survivors like Lanning are calling for more direct and meaningful assistance from the federal government.
