Jill Stein And Kamala Harris Nearly Tied In Poll Among Muslim Voters

A recent poll from the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) shows Green Party candidate Jill Stein and Democratic nominee Kamala Harris are virtually tied among Muslim voters. Stein holds a slight edge with 42% support, while Harris trails with 41%, according to CAIR’s final pre-election survey.

The poll also shows 10% of Muslim voters plan to support President Donald Trump, with 5.4% choosing not to vote and 0.6% backing Libertarian candidate Chase Oliver. With 95% of Muslim respondents saying they intend to vote, CAIR sees a highly engaged electorate this election season.

Nihad Awad, CAIR’s National Executive Director, emphasized the impact of U.S. policies on Gaza as a factor in Muslim voter preferences. “This poll confirms that opposition to U.S. support for the war on Gaza continues to play a major role in influencing Muslim voter preferences,” he stated. Awad urged Muslim Americans to “turn out to vote” regardless of their chosen candidate.

Stein’s running mate, Butch Ware, a Black Muslim and history professor at the University of California Santa Barbara, has voiced strong criticism of Zionism, which he described as “white supremacist” in nature. Stein announced Ware as her vice-presidential pick in August, adding a prominent voice on Middle Eastern issues to her campaign.

CAIR’s poll, conducted between October 30 and 31 with 1,449 verified Muslim voters, has a margin of error of +/-2.5%. With the Muslim vote split between candidates, both Harris and Stein face a tight race for this demographic’s support.
