Leftist Progressives Have A New Children’s Book About Greta Thunberg For Their Climate Anxiety

Greta Thunberg has turned 18 and has seen her climate celebrity status overshadowed by the COVID-19 pandemic over the last couple of years. Since President Donald Trump was replaced by the installation of Joe Biden last year, she has also lost her primary foil for fundraising and gathering attention.

As the “existential threat” of the climate crisis has been displaced somewhat in the corporate media narrative with the “existential threat” of systemic racism, Greta has become less attractive as a media tool over the last couple of years.

Greta has reappeared, at least somewhat, on the media’s timeline with the publication of the new children’s book, “Greta Thunberg and the Climate Crisis,” by Amy Chapman. On Sunday, Andrew Stiles wrote a scathing review of the new book for the Washington Free Beacon.

Stiles pointed out that it could be unusual for ultra-left progressives to be interested in children’s books in 2022. The New York Times recently ran an article about urban liberals and their aversion to having children because of being shaken up by the climate crisis. One white urban woman said that the “collapse of civilization” is the topic of discussion at every dinner party, and the concern about “not having enough food” is prevalent.

The new Greta book purports to be for 7 to 9-year-olds, which may be the last demographic that urban liberals were actively producing. The book comes to the US from Dubai and declares Greta’s “unofficial biography” while providing the “official facts” about climate change.

The book intersperses clip art images of oil rigs and melting icebergs with terse paragraphs about how Greta shows children that “anyone can make a difference.” It may at least serve as a guide on becoming acceptable to the manufacturers of the official media narrative.

The book’s central theme is how someone with an attractive media profile can post social media posts verified journalists enjoy and circulate.

The new book may still serve Franklin Watts, a big publishing house, as a vehicle to cash in on the remainder of Greta’s 15 minutes of fame before the climate crisis is completely thrown over the side by the cultural Marxists to make room for teaching children about racial privilege and oppression.
