Speaker of the House Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) asserted that Democrats are “very concerned” about the prospect that President Joe Biden could face impeachment from the Republican-controlled House of Representatives.
McCarthy’s comments came as he was discussing all the evidence against the Biden family — especially the president — when asked by Fox News host Maria Bartiromo about what else Republicans were seeking in their investigation into the Bidens and whether they took bribes in exchange for getting Ukrainian prosecutor Viktor Shokin fired. At the time of his firing, Shokin was investigating Ukrainian energy company Burisma Holdings, where Hunter Biden was serving on the board of directors.

“We find new information each week. We did not know about the whistleblowers coming forth. We did not know of all these times that the president lied to the American public. Each step we take contradicts what the Bidens had said before. Could you imagine being a sitting vice president, and your family’s members set up 20 shell companies?” McCarthy explained during the interview on “Sunday Morning Futures.”
“And then they deal with foreign countries, that you have got 16 of 17 payments from Romania while you’re vice president,” he added. “And then we have the vice president, now president, claiming that he utilized American tax dollars to withhold from Ukraine to get a prosecutor fired.”
McCarthy also revealed that Republican lawmakers learned during the summer recess about the amount of pressure being exerted on Hunter Biden and one of his business partners to get Shokin removed from investigating Burisma.
He went on to note that Republicans still have a lot of questions that need answering — but all of the evidence thus far has prompted Democrats to become “very concerned” about the potential for impeachment because they have tied themselves to Biden.
“So there’s a lot of questions still. And to be able to get the answers to these questions, you would need an impeachment inquiry to empower Congress, Republicans, and Democrats, to be able to get the answers that the American people deserve to know,” McCarthy said. “I have had Democrats now tell me they’re very concerned because they back this president based upon what he told America. And with each turn, we find that is not true.”
