Millions In Dark Money Pushed Into Nevada To Enshrine Abortion And Voting Changes

Nevada’s upcoming elections have drawn attention from national left-wing groups pouring millions into the state to support two major ballot initiatives. Both the abortion rights measure, known as Question 6, and a ranked-choice voting (RCV) proposal are seeing heavy financial backing from progressive organizations aiming to alter the state’s constitution.

The abortion initiative, led by Nevadans for Reproductive Freedom, seeks to enshrine a “fundamental right to abortion” in the state constitution. While Nevada already allows abortion in many circumstances, this measure would solidify it even further. The group raised $6.6 million in the last quarter, with significant contributions from the Advocacy Action Fund and the Tides Foundation. These groups, known for their left-leaning agendas, are investing heavily to ensure the measure passes.

Meanwhile, the ranked-choice voting initiative is also receiving substantial financial backing. Question 3, which proposes a shift to an RCV system, has been criticized for complicating the election process and favoring certain candidates. Yes on 3, the group advocating for this change, collected $13.9 million in donations, primarily from progressive groups like Unite America and Article IV.

While left-wing groups are pushing hard to pass these measures, many voters in Nevada are skeptical. Both Republicans and Democrats have raised concerns, particularly about RCV, arguing that it could lead to confusing election outcomes and undermine the traditional voting system.

As Nevada voters head to the polls, the overwhelming influence of left-wing dark money is shaping the conversation, leaving many to wonder if these initiatives truly reflect the will of the people.
