Musk Hits Back At Walz Over Nazi Salute Claim, Suggests Lawsuit

Elon Musk fired back at Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz on Wednesday after the Democrat repeated an unfounded claim about him on national television. Walz, who ran as Kamala Harris’ vice presidential pick, insisted during an MSNBC interview that Musk performed a Nazi salute at President Donald Trump’s inauguration rally.

Appearing on “The Rachel Maddow Show,” Walz claimed the public had been debating whether Musk made the gesture. “Of course he did,” Walz said, doubling down on the accusation despite it being rejected by multiple sources, including Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

Musk responded on X after filmmaker Robby Starbuck posted a clip of Walz’s remarks and suggested Musk should take legal action. “I think I will,” Musk wrote, adding that Walz is “creepy” and mocking him with a clown emoji. He later indicated he may also sue MSNBC host Rachel Maddow, who previously referred to Musk’s movement as resembling a “Roman salute.”

The controversy stems from an event at Trump’s inauguration rally, where Musk placed his hand on his chest before extending his arm. Left-wing critics quickly attempted to frame the motion as a Nazi salute, but Netanyahu and others dismissed the claim.

Musk, who spent $277 million supporting Republicans in the 2024 election, has been a frequent target of left-wing attacks. Walz, who was soundly defeated in the election, has continued making accusations against Trump and his allies.

Neither Walz nor MSNBC has responded to Musk’s legal threat. Bloomberg estimates Musk’s net worth at $428 billion, making him the richest person in the world.
