Nicole Shanahan, the vice-presidential candidate running alongside Robert F. Kennedy Jr., has hinted that they may exit the 2024 presidential race to endorse President Donald Trump. Shanahan made the remarks during a candid interview on Impact Theory with Tom Bilyeu, where she accused the Democratic Party of systematically sabotaging their campaign.
Shanahan laid out two options: continue with their independent run, which risks splitting the vote and leading to a Kamala Harris presidency, or drop out and unite with Trump. “We’re looking at staying in and forming that new party, but we run the risk of a Kamala Harris and Tim Walz presidency because we draw votes from Trump,” she explained. “The other option is to walk away right now and join forces with Donald Trump.”
Shanahan described the extent of what she called Democratic sabotage, including insider interference, legal challenges, and millions spent by the DNC-aligned Clear Choice PAC to derail their campaign. She emphasized that they did not enter the race to be spoilers but to win and enact real change.
In her assessment, the future of the country would be more secure under Trump’s leadership than under a Harris administration. “I trust the future of this country more under Trump and the [Peter] Thiels and the JD Vances than I do under Harris and the Reid Hoffmans,” Shanahan said.
The Harris campaign has remained dismissive of the Kennedy-Shanahan ticket, with a spokesperson reportedly stating that there is “no intention of negotiating” with what they described as a “MAGA-funded fringe candidate.”
With this potential shift, the 2024 election landscape could see a significant realignment, especially if RFK Jr. supporters rally behind Trump.
