Obama Installs Huge Propane Tanks While Supporting Destruction of American Energy

Barack Obama is investing heavily in fossil fuels for his expansive Martha’s Vineyard estate, even as energy prices surge for ordinary Americans. He has ordered three large propane tanks for his property.

The green energy policies pushed by globalist far-left elites appear not to apply to those with the means to supply themselves. Obama may be preparing to ride out the brown-outs caused when the power grid is affected by the unreliability of solar- and wind-generated electricity.

The Edgartown, Massachusetts, city select board office confirmed that an application had been submitted for an “underground propane installment” at the address of the Obama residence. The tanks are to be permitted for “residential purposes” and will include two 1,000-gallon tanks and one 500-gallon tank.

Board member Arthur Smadbeck confirmed to reporters that the city has never before had an application for a private propane tank system this large. He noted that the typical residential propane system is only a small fraction of the size being installed by Obama.

Propane produces lower carbon emissions than burning oil or coal but is considered a fossil fuel. The fuel still produces waste products that include sulfur dioxide, nitrogen oxides, carbon monoxide, and methane and non-methane organic carbon greenhouse gasses.

Propane has become more expensive for average Americans who use it to heat their homes. The U.S. Energy Information Administration said that propane is expected to go up in price by as much as 54% over last year.

Obama spoke last year at the COP26 climate change summit, using global temperature trends as evidence that “our planet has been wounded by our actions.” He said that climate change is the greatest threat to “our children, our planet, and future generations.” As president, he pledged to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by up to 28% by 2025.

The Obama residence where the tanks are being installed was also the location for his 60th birthday gala held for hundreds of high-powered guests last summer as the Delta variant of COVID-19 restricted the activities of ordinary Americans.
