Anna Paulina Luna (R-FL) revealed on Wednesday that her office had received a “very serious shooting threat.” Luna blames the Democrats’ inflammatory rhetoric for the threat, asserting that their “division and hate campaign” against Republicans has led to an increase in violent attacks, including assassination attempts on Donald Trump.
Luna, who did not specify whether the threat was made by phone or mail, took to social media to declare that she would not back down. “I will not be threatened, intimidated, or bow down to those using violence as a means to push their agenda. We will win,” she posted on X.
This shooting threat follows a series of incidents where Luna was doxxed online. Personal information about her and her family was circulated on social media, leading to the mailing of threatening packages to her home. Luna accuses her Democratic opponent, Whitney Fox, of enabling her supporters to dox her through the campaign’s comment sections.
Luna expressed concerns over the rising levels of violence, particularly following the second assassination attempt on Trump. She claims that Democrats’ frequent accusations of Republicans being “threats to democracy” are contributing to an environment of hatred and division that leads to violent outcomes.
