The 2024 presidential race has taken a significant turn as Robert F. Kennedy Jr. decided to end his independent campaign in key battleground states and endorse President Donald Trump. According to polling from Trump’s campaign pollster Tony Fabrizio, Kennedy’s endorsement could give Trump the upper hand in several closely contested states.
Before suspending his run, Kennedy was polling between 3% and 5% in battlegrounds like Arizona, Nevada, and Pennsylvania.
Fabrizio’s latest data shows that most of Kennedy’s voters are now backing Trump instead of Democratic nominee Kamala Harris. In Arizona, for example, 53% of Kennedy’s former supporters now support Trump, compared to only 28% who favor Harris.
This shift, though seemingly small, is critical in states where margins are tight. In Georgia, Trump gains a net 13% advantage over Harris among former Kennedy voters, while in Michigan, the shift is just 2%. Other states like North Carolina, Nevada and Wisconsin show Trump gaining between 16% and 21% more of Kennedy’s supporters than Harris.
RealClearPolitics averages reveal how close these races are — Trump and Harris are nearly tied in Arizona and Pennsylvania, while Harris holds narrow leads in Wisconsin and Michigan. Given these slim margins, Kennedy’s endorsement could be pivotal in deciding these states.
As both campaigns prepare for the final stretch, RFK Jr.’s support of Trump may end up being a decisive factor in determining who takes the White House in November.
