Raheem Kassam, Editor-in-Chief of The National Pulse, recently criticized the Biden-Harris Department of Justice (DOJ) for what he described as a politically motivated probe into alleged Russian influence on conservative influencers.
Speaking on the Charlie Kirk Show, Kassam called the investigation a “confected” narrative meant to deflect attention from more serious issues involving Chinese influence on the left.
The DOJ investigation centers on Canadian personality Laren Chen, who Kassam noted has been openly critical of President Donald Trump in recent years. He added that Tim Pool and Benny Johnson, who were also mentioned in the probe, appear to have been unknowingly involved. Kassam likened the investigation to the Russia narrative that plagued the 2016 election.
Kassam pointed out that China, not Russia, poses the real foreign influence threat. He highlighted the Chinese Communist Party’s (CCP) deep ties to leftist politics and media, citing Confucius Institutes as an example of how China promotes its agenda in American schools. He also referenced Sen. Bob Menendez (D-NJ), who is currently facing allegations of taking bribes from foreign governments.
Kassam also criticized corporate media for being entangled with foreign money, accusing outlets like CNN, Bloomberg, and News Corp of operating on a “pay-for-play” model. He contrasted this with The National Pulse, which is entirely funded by its readers.
Kassam argued that the DOJ’s probe is intended to distract from more pressing foreign influence scandals and is timed to coincide with the upcoming election.
