Senator Warns Of Missing ISIS-Linked Immigrants After Border Crossing

Sen. Jim Banks (R-IN) has raised alarm over 50 illegal immigrants smuggled into the United States by ISIS-linked networks who are now missing. The revelation follows devastating New Year’s Eve terror attacks in New Orleans and Las Vegas, heightening concerns about the nation’s security.

Speaking on Sunday, Banks revealed that the Department of Homeland Security identified 400 ISIS-affiliated individuals who crossed the southern border last year. Of those, 50 are unaccounted for. “We have no idea where they are,” Banks said, calling for immediate attention to the situation.

Banks criticized the Biden administration’s handling of border security, stating that a lack of enforcement created an opening for terrorist networks to exploit. He underscored the need for swift action under the Trump administration, set to take office later this month.

The senator commended President Donald Trump’s first-term success in eradicating the ISIS caliphate, framing it as a model for addressing current threats. He also pointed to Trump’s nominees, Kash Patel and Pete Hegseth, as key figures who will realign intelligence operations to prevent future attacks.

The missing individuals raise concerns about potential future incidents, particularly after New Year’s Eve attacks linked to ISIS. In New Orleans, a truck attack on Bourbon Street claimed 14 lives, while a coordinated assault in Las Vegas left dozens injured.

Efforts are underway to locate the missing individuals and bolster security measures at the southern border.
