Soros-Funded Group Expands Anti-Trump Media Presence In Nevada

A news network backed by billionaire George Soros has increased its influence in Nevada by launching a local news site aimed at undermining Republicans, including President Donald Trump. Courier Newsroom, a media organization started by Democrat strategist Tara McGowan, has added “The Nevadan” to its collection of websites. The site is pushing a wave of digital ads spreading narratives supportive of Democrats, such as Vice President Kamala Harris and Sen. Jacky Rosen (D-NV), while attacking Trump and other Republicans.

Critics argue Courier’s agenda is more about pushing partisan content than delivering real news. The organization has been flagged by watchdog groups for misleading voters. NewsGuard called it a “clandestine political operation,” noting that it disguises political propaganda as local news.

One false claim circulated by The Nevadan involves Trump allegedly planning to reinstate a military draft, a baseless rumor that Trump himself has dismissed. The network’s deceptive tactics, such as flooding Facebook with targeted ads, are reportedly designed to influence undecided voters.

Courier’s growth in swing states is seen as a strategy to tip elections in favor of Democrats. Despite its clear political leanings, the Federal Election Commission ruled that Courier is exempt from financial disclosure rules, labeling it a news organization. The organization has received substantial funding from Soros, who has reportedly funneled $20 million through his Open Society Foundations since 2021.
