Trump Takes Legal Action Against Pollster Ann Selzer Over ‘Fraudulent’ Iowa Poll

President-elect Donald Trump has filed lawsuits against pollster Ann Selzer and 60 Minutes, accusing them of publishing a fraudulent poll before the November election to interfere with voter confidence. Trump argued the poll falsely predicted he would lose Iowa by several points.

Speaking at Mar-a-Lago in Palm Beach, Florida, Trump criticized Selzer, who has a reputation for accuracy. “She’s a very good pollster. She got me right all the time,” Trump said. “But right before the election, she said I’d lose by three or four points. It was fraud and election interference.”

Selzer responded to Trump’s allegations in an interview on PBS’s Iowa Press, dismissing any claims of wrongdoing. “To suggest I manipulated the results is false,” she said. “I have no reason, no motivation to do such a thing. It’s not who I am.”

Despite the pre-election poll, Trump went on to win Iowa with a strong margin. On Truth Social, he criticized Selzer and the Register, saying, “A totally fake poll that caused great distrust and uncertainty at a very critical time. The GREAT PEOPLE OF IOWA saw through it.”

Trump’s lawsuit highlights growing scrutiny over polling practices and their influence during elections. His supporters have rallied behind him, arguing that inaccurate or manipulated polling damages public trust and unfairly affects voter turnout.

The case against Selzer and 60 Minutes is part of Trump’s broader campaign to hold media outlets accountable. As the legal process begins, Trump remains firm that the lawsuit is a necessary step toward ensuring integrity in future elections.
