Nearly 200 volunteers support the combined operation, drawing from Burke’s competitive cooking background. The Margarettsville resident activated hometown networks responding to mountain communities’ needs.
The Seaboard Lions Club manages donations ensuring transparent resource distribution. “Proper oversight maintains donor trust,” said Sarah Thompson, club president.
Local organizations provide crucial coordination assistance. “Small towns understand helping neighbors,” Burke said, noting widespread community response.
Burke selected Newland as primary distribution site after learning about ongoing challenges. “Rural areas often face recovery gaps,” he said.
Faith communities offer essential volunteer support. “Churches form backbone of relief networks,” Thompson said.
