Volunteer Fights Off Attacker In Holiday Toy Drive Trap

Erin Quinn, a southern California volunteer, fought off a kidnapping attempt during what she thought was a routine holiday toy pickup. The harrowing incident has left her shaken and calling for justice.

Quinn was contacted by a scammer claiming to be an elderly donor. When she arrived at the address provided, she returned to her car to find a woman waiting inside. The attacker used a Taser to force Quinn to drive while repeatedly shocking her.

After 25 minutes, Quinn crashed her vehicle in an effort to escape. The attacker, disguised in a blonde wig, fought Quinn until a bystander intervened. Quinn recognized her assailant as her former housekeeper, Olga Mendez, and believes she intended to kidnap her.

Quinn suffered multiple injuries, including taser burns, bruises, and ripped-out hair. Despite the trauma, she fought back, biting off part of the attacker’s finger during the struggle.
“I don’t know why she would do this,” Quinn said. “I believe she was planning to take me to Mexico for ransom or something worse.”

Police are investigating the case, but no arrests have been made. Quinn remains concerned for her safety while urging others to be cautious.
