Wi-Fi Router Suspected In Fire That Destroyed Florida Mother’s Home

A Florida family lost everything in a devastating fire that may have been caused by an overheating Wi-Fi router. Keona Huntley, a mother of three, is warning others to stay vigilant after sharing footage of her burned home on social media.

Huntley said the fire began in her bedroom, where a Quantum Fiber router was located. The device had been replaced just two months earlier due to persistent issues, but problems persisted, leading to multiple technician visits.

The blaze quickly engulfed the home, leaving it in ruins. Huntley’s video showed charred walls, furniture reduced to debris, and a mattress burned to its springs. “We literally lost everything today,” she said, describing the destruction.

Adding to the heartbreak, Huntley admitted she did not have renters insurance, which has left her unable to recover any of her family’s lost belongings. “That was on me,” she said. “I have to live with that guilt now.”

Supporters on social media urged Huntley to hire a lawyer and ensure fire investigators examine the router for potential defects. “Preserve the evidence,” one commenter advised, while others suggested pursuing legal action if the device is found responsible.

The family has started a GoFundMe campaign to raise funds for temporary housing and essential replacements. As of now, fire officials are still investigating the cause of the fire.
