WWE’s Kane Offers To Fight Walz After Governor Brags He Can Take Trump Supporters In A Fight

The wrestling world stepped into politics this week after Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz claimed he could beat up a majority of Donald Trump supporters. WWE legend Kane — now a Tennessee mayor — wasn’t amused, offering Walz a chance to back up his words in the ring.

Kane offered to face Walz in a charity match, throwing down a $10,000 donation and proposing they split the proceeds between each of their charities. His post on X included the hashtags #LetsDance and #TennesseeWalz and a digital mock-up of Walz in a rainbow wrestling outfit.

Walz’s comments came during a political discussion with California Gov. Gavin Newsom on Newsom’s podcast. “I think I can kick most of their a**,” Walz said, prompting laughter from Newsom, though Walz insisted Republicans feared him for being hands-on and authentic.

Trump, speaking to reporters from the Oval Office, laughed off the whole exchange. “Oh boy, he’d be in trouble. He’s a loser. He didn’t help their campaign — he might’ve ruined it.”

Beyond political jabs, Walz has faced real policy challenges. Minnesota’s decision to ignore Trump’s federal ban on transgender athletes in female sports has kept him in the national spotlight. The state’s high school league declared it would stick with local law, allowing athletes to compete based on gender identity.

The policy was condemned by former NFL player Jack Brewer, who said Walz had turned his back on young male athletes and “doesn’t appeal to real men who’ve battled on the gridiron.” Brewer had supported a state bill banning males from girls’ sports, which failed in committee.

Though Walz has hinted at a future presidential bid, his chances appear slim — with just 5% support in early primary polling among Democrats and independents.
