Young Cancer Patient Brings Holiday Cheer To Hospitalized Children

Elliott Hole, a four-year-old battling leukemia, delivered more than 400 bags of gifts to children’s hospitals in Kent, England, as a way to give back during the holidays.

Harley, his mother, was inspired to start the initiative after seeing the challenges hospitalized children face during the season. She created an Amazon Wishlist for her community, collecting donations of toys, games, chocolates, and advent calendars.

“From what I’ve experienced, being stuck in a room gets very boring,” Harley shared. “These gifts bring a little joy to kids who can’t leave their rooms.”

The mother-son duo delivered the gifts to three hospitals: Royal Marsden in Sutton, Kings College in London, and Princess Royal University Hospital in Farnborough. “The nurses were amazed by how much we brought,” Harley said, describing the crates filled with presents.

Elliott’s journey with leukemia began in January 2022, and he has been undergoing daily chemotherapy as part of a three-year treatment plan. Despite his battle, Harley describes him as “kind, outgoing, and strong-willed.”

As Elliott approaches the end of his treatment in March, the family hopes to continue this tradition of giving back, spreading joy to more children during future holiday seasons.
