Mark Zuckerberg wants Americans to believe he supports free speech, but his own company’s records expose that as a lie. His recent efforts to reshape his public image cannot cover up Facebook’s deep involvement in government-backed censorship.
In a recent interview with Joe Rogan, Zuckerberg claimed that Facebook resisted pressure from the Biden administration to censor posts about COVID-19. He described how officials would aggressively demand that Facebook remove content, including memes critical of the vaccine. Zuckerberg insisted his team refused to take down truthful information.
But the “Facebook Files,” released by Rep. Jim Jordan (R-OH), directly contradict Zuckerberg’s version of events. Internal communications show that Facebook bowed to the Biden White House’s demands. Under political pressure, Facebook downranked conservative content and implemented new policies to crack down on dissenting voices.
Biden’s Senior Adviser Andy Slavitt pushed Facebook to take down a meme mocking the COVID-19 vaccine. Instead of defending free speech, Facebook executives worked to suppress content from prominent conservatives like Tucker Carlson. Emails reveal that the company brainstormed ways to be more aggressive in censoring criticism of the vaccine.
Zuckerberg’s new public persona is a calculated move to distract from Facebook’s censorship. His martial arts competitions and podcast appearances are meant to humanize him, but they cannot erase the fact that his platform silenced Americans when it mattered most.
Zuckerberg also poured $450 million into election-related efforts in 2020, raising serious questions about his political influence. His actions consistently aligned with Democrat interests, revealing where his true loyalties lie.
Americans should not trust Zuckerberg’s sudden commitment to free speech. His track record shows that he is willing to suppress dissent when it benefits his political allies. This latest PR campaign is nothing more than an attempt to rewrite history and distract from Facebook’s role in silencing opposing voices.
