Biden Rolls Out New Term For Illegal Migrants

Democrats seem to view George Orwell’s dystopian novel 1984 as an instruction manual rather than a cautionary tale. To that end, the Biden administration has devised a new name for illegal aliens — inspired by the “doublespeak” concept from Orwell’s prophetic work. It was rolled out on a “factsheet” during a visit to the flashpoint border town of Eagle Pass in Texas.

Anti-Western civilization Marxists have already gone through a cycle of euphemisms for border jumpers, including “undocumented people,” “immigrants” and “migrants.” What used to be “illegal aliens” has been sanitized over the years.

The latest Democrat doublespeak moniker for illegal aliens is “newcomers.”

This term was used in a “fact sheet” selling the Democrats’ Senate Bill, which would allow 8,500 illegals per day to continue to cross the border.

The fact sheet states: “The bill also includes $1.4 billion for cities and states that provide critical services to newcomers and would expedite work permits for people who are in the country and qualify.”

Biden’s visit to Eagle Pass came on the heels of former President Trump’s appearance there. The president lobbied for the passage of the current border bill, even inviting Trump to join him in support.

It has been noted that existing immigration law uses the term: “illegal alien” for non-citizens who circumvent the immigration process. Some remark that even the term “illegal immigrant” is inappropriate because the very word “immigration” describes a process that is inherently legitimate. Many would say the term “trespasser” or even “invader” is a much better description.

Biden, of course, blames the current immigration crisis on President Trump, who has been a major opponent of the current “compromise” bill. Stalled in Congress, it would provide over $100 billion in aid to Ukraine, Israel, and Taiwan.

The president frames the issue as if he could do nothing about the crisis without the passage of the current legislation. In fact, existing immigration law need only be invoked to fortify the border and deport all “newcomers” who are not in the country through legitimate established legal processes.

Immigration is indeed the issue voters consider the most important for the 2024 election. Americans are weary of illegals importing gang violence and consuming resources in their communities. They have had enough of schools and community centers being shut down to house illegals, and funding being diverted to prepaid debit cards and hotel rooms for illegals.

Rebranding illegal aliens as “newcomers” will do little to persuade angry voters in November.
