TikTok influencer Lionel Moreno is using his channel to direct his 300,000 followers to raise the necessary funds to bail 15-year-old Jesus Alejandro Rivas-Figueroa out of jail, who is also from Venezuela. Moreno’s post has received more than 2 million views.
Rivas-Figueroa was resisting arrest for a theft on Feb. 8 when he opened fire on police, resulting in a bullet wounding a female tourist from Brazil. He is being charged as an adult for attempted murder.
The influx of illegal immigrants into New York City is especially concerning to the FBI, which fears that the Venezuelan gang Tren de Aragua is joining forces there with the notorious Mexican gang MS-13. If such a criminal alliance were to happen, it would be devastating for the city which is already beleaguered with crime and violence from illegal immigrants.
Although the popular conception of illegal immigrants tends to focus on people from Mexico, the truth is the entire world is crossing with ease through the United States’ open southern border. Nationals from all over Central America, South America, and from countries around the globe are walking into the U.S. mainland, often with little or no resistance. Among these illegal aliens can be found people from China and the Middle East.
This presents an emergency national security crisis — but Joe Biden has done nothing decisive to stop it. Instead, Democrats across the nation have continued to support policies that attract illegal immigrants by offering financial welfare, the ability to vote in local elections, and other perks.
So appealing is the magnet to cross the border that there is even a growing trend of illegal immigrants turning into social media influencers to support themselves as they document their journey into the United States. Some will cross the border and then go back and do it again just for clicks and views. It appears that Lionel Moreno is one illegal immigrant influencer of many.
As Democrat policies attract illegal crossings and the border bleeds like an open wound, crime, violence, and financial problems can only be expected to increase as state and local governments scramble to find funds to mitigate the crisis. It is well within the capability of the U.S. government to resolve the problem, as former president Donald Trump had significant successes in doing so even while facing opposition. The main question is how long Americans will continue to vote for leaders who do not have their interests in mind.
