Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) recently warned that the U.S. will be “gone” if the state of Texas is taken over by Democrats in 2024, adding that his Senate race is going to be “a real fight.”

Cruz cited the fact that in the 2018 Senate election, he only defeated Democratic challenger Beto O’Rourke by 200,000 votes. The Texas senator said that the Democratic Party previously spent “tens of millions of dollars” in that election, where they increased voter turnout among Democratic voters.
Cruz added that Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) has “made it clear” he wants to remove him from the Senate seat in 2024.
“They’re gonna spend $100 million the next year trying to flip Texas blue,” Cruz warned, according to the Washington Examiner. “And I gotta say, if they succeed, if Texas turns blue, the country’s gone. The rest of the country, we don’t stay up at night wondering what happens with Ohio or Florida if Texas turns blue.”
Cruz is asking Texas voters to support him in the Senate race considering that Democrats have “set their bull’s eye on my race,” with Reps. Colin Allred (D-TX) and state Sen. Roland Gutierrez (D) currently running in the Democratic Party’s primary for the 2024 Senate seat.
Allred recently voted to prevent federal funds from going toward Texas’s Operation Lone Star despite the state being flooded with illegal immigrants at the southern border. The operation is a program led by Texas Gov. Greg Abbott (R) with one goal in mind: end illegal immigration.
Illegal immigration is a crucial issue for many as the U.S. prepares for another election in 2024. The issue has been a top talking point for many Republicans.
Cruz claimed that many illegal immigrants have access to an app on their smartphones that allows them to be “processed” in two minutes, enabling them to travel wherever they’d like in the U.S.
“And they say, ‘Lawrence, where do you want to go?'” Cruz said.
“And you say, ‘New York City, Big Apple.’ They say ‘Great, go sit over there.’ And all they’re doing from that point on is processing to put you on a plane or a bus to send you wherever you want to go, and every city in America is now a border city. Joe Biden is the last mile of the human trafficking network,” he added.
