NYC Professor Threatens NY Post Reporter With Machete

A Manhattan college professor, who recently made headlines for berating anti-abortion students at Hunter College, took her aggression to a new level when she threatened a New York Post reporter with a machete.

Shellyne Rodriguez, an adjunct art professor, shocked observers when she held the blade to the reporter’s neck and made disturbing threats during an encounter outside her Bronx apartment. The incident unfolded shortly after the reporter identified himself at Rodriguez’s door on Tuesday morning.

From behind the closed door, Rodriguez unleashed a profanity-laden tirade, warning the reporter to stay away. Moments later, she emerged, brandishing the machete and pressing it against the reporter’s neck while continuing to spew threats.

“Get the f–k away from my door! Get the f–k away from my door!” she yelled before retreating back inside and slamming the door shut. Undeterred, Rodriguez pursued the reporter and photographer, who had left the apartment building, while still wielding the machete. She confronted them outside, issuing additional warnings and aggressive gestures.

The alarming incident was captured on video, which depicted Rodriguez chasing the photographer down the street, machete in hand. Eventually, she returned to deliver a kick to the reporter’s shins before finally retreating back into her building. In response to the incident, Hunter College swiftly took action.

Vince DiMiceli, a spokesperson for the college, announced that Rodriguez had been relieved of her duties, emphasizing the institution’s condemnation of her unacceptable actions. He confirmed that she would not be returning to teach at Hunter College.

The terrifying encounter came in the wake of another incident involving Rodriguez, where she verbally assaulted anti-abortion students who had set up an information table at Hunter College. Footage of the confrontation, filled with profanities, circulated online, garnering widespread attention.

The violent behavior displayed by Rodriguez has raised concerns about her mental state and the need for legal repercussions. Many have called for charges of assault and battery to be brought against her. However, there are concerns that the Manhattan district attorney, known for his anti-Trump stance, may hesitate to prosecute Rodriguez based on her race.

The incident serves as a stark reminder of the importance of addressing acts of aggression and violence. Regardless of an individual’s race or political affiliations, the safety and well-being of all should be prioritized.
