During a House Oversight Committee hearing, Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (R-NY) accused Chaya Raichik, the owner of the “Libs of TikTok” account, of being a liar.
Cortez asked Twitter’s former head of trust and safety Yoel Roth if he was aware of “Libs of TikTok” and the alleged lies that the account has spread.
“Are you aware that from August 11th to August 16th, that account posted false information about Boston Children’s Hospital, claiming that they were providing hysterectomies to children?” she asked.
“Yes, I am aware of that and other claims from the account,” Roth replied.
After AOC deemed that the account posted a “lie” that was “circulated by other prominent far-right influencers”, she said that the information led to “real life harassment and ultimately a bomb threat” to Boston Children’s Hospital.
In response, Raichik appeared on Fox News’s “Tucker Carlson Tonight” where Host Tucker Carlson noted that Raichik does not engage in commentary on her account; rather, she only re-posts liberals in their own words.
“The funny thing is Libs of TikTok makes almost no claims at all. It just puts up videos of people saying what they want to say, and you can assess it. So Boston Children’s Hospital, for example, admits — this is not a claim we’re making; it’s an observation — that it performs gender surgeries on children,” he said.
“And in a video, that hospital boasted ‘we will see patients as young as 15 for top surgeries.’ In other words, mastectomies cutting the breasts off children. So that’s real. Their website said they do vaginoplasties on children. This children’s hospital describes this as gender-affirming care, including and recording gender-affirming hysterectomies,” he added.

During the interview, Raichik stated, “I believe that AOC and Yoel Roth were mad that people were able to see the truth.”
“It’s very concerning that they’re more upset about people knowing that these surgeries are happening to children than the fact that these children are getting these surgeries,” Raichik added. “I mean, children are being sterilized and mutilated across the country in a lot of hospitals, and they’re just more mad that we know about it,” she added.
Additionally, Carlson noted that one of the posts by Raichik came from Boston Children’s Hospital, which applauded itself on its website for being the “first pediatric and adolescent transgender health program” in the U.S.
The Gender Multispecialty Service (GMS) has cared for more than 1,000 families to date, the hospital said.
However, the hospital denied that it engages in gender-affirming surgeries on minors.
“We only perform gender-affirming hysterectomies on patients who are age 18 or older,” it added.
Regarding the House Oversight hearing, Raichik stated that there were “very concerning” assertions about government officials allegedly working with the FBI and Big Tech to censor those who “dared speak the truth.”
