Democrats Increasingly Oppose Biden’s Bid For Reelection

There is open dissension among the Democratic ranks as their flag-bearer conducts his campaign for reelection. Party colleagues are increasingly vocal in expressing their displeasure over the incumbent attempting to hold onto power.

That is depressing news for the left, which must daily face mounting poll results showing former President Donald Trump pulling ahead of Biden.

David Axelrod is a former Obama strategist who is influential as a Democratic political consultant. He conceded that as long as Biden remains in the race, he will be the party’s nominee. But he asked if the president’s persistence is “in HIS best interests or the country’s.”

Congressional Democrats, including Rep. Dean Phillips (D-MN), asked similar questions. “Why does everyone have blinders on? Why are we essentially being led to this cliff without knowing what’s on the other side?”

The Washington Post’s David Ignatius is an unabashed liberal who is not shy about expressing his admiration for the duo currently occupying the White House. But the columnist drew the line at another four years.

Calling it “painful” to admit, he simply stated, “I don’t think Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris should run for reelection.”

But the 81-year-old Biden holds out hope and tells everyone within earshot that he is the nation’s best chance to thwart Trump. Is this realistic?

Polls show the 45th president increasing his lead in battleground states in head-to-head matchups. A September CNN survey revealed a whopping two-thirds of Democrat-leaning voters believe someone else should be the nominee.

Of that total, an even more shocking 82% did not have a preference for the replacement. They simply declared the party needs “just someone besides Joe Biden.”

Roughly half cited his age as their chief concern. In a similar vein, another 7% cited reasons such as “mental competence/sharpness/senility” along with “health” as reasons for seeking a replacement.

Other polls show a majority of all Americans simply believe the Democrat is too old.

One thing should be clear. If Trump continues to withstand legal persecution and pull further ahead of the incumbent, the Democratic Party will almost unquestionably make a change at the top.

If 2020 proved anything, it demonstrated that the left will stop at nothing to ensure that Trump does not occupy the Oval Office for another four years. An excuse will be made, a scenario concocted, and suddenly there will be another Democrat on the ticket.
