Ronna McDaniel’s Days As RNC Chair Appear Numbered

It appears Republican National Committee (RNC) Chairwoman Ronna McDaniel’s days at the top of the RNC leadership are numbered, with former President Donald Trump recently hinting as such.

During an interview with Fox News, the former president said, “You have to understand, I have nothing to do with the RNC; I’m separate. I think she did great when she ran Michigan for me, I think she did OK initially in the RNC. I would say right now there will probably be some changes made.”

The RNC is underperforming in fundraising compared to the Democratic National Committee (DNC). In 2023, the RNC, under McDaniel’s watch, raised a little over $87 million and finished with just $8 million on hand, marking the worst performance since 2013. In contrast, the DNC garnered nearly $120 million and had $21 million on hand.

When asked about the RNC’s finances, Trump said, “So, I have a lot of money.” He argued that “people are not looking at the RNC. They want changes.”

RedState reported that McDaniel’s problems extend further than funding, with Republicans losing out on crucial elections in Virginia in 2023.

Although McDaniel has had a problem with funding, she has no issues with spending money.

RedState Managing Editor Jennifer Van Laar reported on the RNC’s inorganization and failure to win elections. For example, the RNC closed 75% of its Hispanic outreach centers, basically handing over the crucial demographic of voters to the Democrats.

In December 2022, the RNC had “nearly two dozen Hispanic Outreach Centers” in operation. As of today, just five remain.

As if that wasn’t bad enough, filings to the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) showed the RNC’s massive spending, with most funds going toward private jet services, floral arrangements, and limousine escorts.

McDaniel has received growing criticism among prominent Republicans, including former GOP presidential contender Vivek Ramaswamy, who lashed out at the RNC chairwoman during the third Republican presidential primary debate in Miami, Florida.

After citing Republicans’ losses in the 2018, 2020, 2022, and 2023 elections, Ramaswamy said, “For that matter, Ronna, if you wanna come onstage tonight, you wanna look the GOP voters in the eye and tell ‘em you resign, I will turn over my — yield my time to you.”
