UFC Fighter Launches Scathing Attack On Bud Light

After Bud Light’s parent company Anheuser-Busch InBev lost an estimated $1.4 billion in revenue due to a widespread boycott against the once-leading brand, some critics have begun to argue that it deserves a second chance.

That group includes the Ultimate Fighting Championship, which announced last year that it had reached a major sponsorship deal with Bud Light.

“Anheuser-Busch and Bud Light were UFC’s original beer sponsors more than fifteen years ago,” said UFC CEO Dana White at the time. “I’m proud to announce we are back in business together. There are many reasons why I chose to go with Anheuser-Busch and Bud Light, most importantly because I feel we are very aligned when it comes to our core values and what the UFC brand stands for. I’m looking forward to all of the incredible things we will do in the years ahead.”

Not everyone associated with the organization is on board, however, as UFC star Sean Strickland recently made clear.

In an expletive-laden social media commentary on Monday, he indirectly referenced Bud Light’s controversial campaign with transgender influencer Dylan Mulvaney and the UFC’s subsequent decision to partner with the brand.

“I’m so sick of these c—s,” Strickland wrote. “Even budlight [sic]. I’m the definition of America … yet I’m the bad guy because I believe in two genders? I am the majority. They force feed your kids f—ing pride flags. I just wanna fight back a little.”

The professional pugilist is no stranger to sharing his unvarnished thoughts about modern society and culture. His response in January to a reporter’s questions about his previous statements regarding homosexuality proved his willingness to stand up for his beliefs.

Calling the reporter a “weak f—ing man” prior to a fight in Toronto, Strickland added: “You’re part of the f—ing problem. You elected [Canadian Prime Minister] Justin Trudeau. When he seized the bank accounts, like you’re just f—ing pathetic. The fact that you have no f—ing backbone and as he shut down your f—ing country and seized your f—ing country and seized your bank accounts, you ask me some stupid s— like that. Go f— yourself. Move the f— on, man. F—ing coward.”
