Vice President Kamala Harris has been suspiciously quiet regarding President Joe Biden’s classified documents scandal, making no public statements about the matter, which has prompted several Republicans to express concern that she could be angling to take Biden’s job.
Despite delivering several public statements since Biden’s scandal was leaked to the media on January 9, Harris has not made any comments supporting the president or condemning his actions.
Breitbart News noted that while she hasn’t spoken about the scandal, Harris’ “public comments during this timeframe have largely remained on script, ranging from global warming, Venn diagrams, electricity, school buses, and the southern border invasion.”
Her silence is especially notable considering her previous attacks on former President Donald Trump for allegedly mishandling classified documents.
In August, the vice president condemned Trump as “irresponsible” for questioning the FBI’s controversial raid of his Mar-a-Lago home.
“It’s just highly irresponsible of anyone who calls themselves a leader and certainly anyone who represents the United States of America to engage in rhetoric for the sake of some political objective that can result in harm to law enforcement officers and agents,” Harris said.
Of course, Biden’s scandal is arguably worse than Trump’s, considering the fact that Biden had illegally stored classified documents from his time as vice president and his time in the U.S. Senate in multiple unsecured locations — while Trump kept classified documents from his time as president in a room with a lock provided by the FBI, in a home that was protected by the Secret Service.
Reacting to Harris’ silence, former Rep. Devin Nunes (R-CA) — who served as the chair of the House Intelligence Committee from 2015 to 2019 and now serves as the CEO of Trump’s social media platform, Truth Social — told Breitbart News that her lack of comment on Biden’s scandal suggests her intention to replace him as president.
“Team Obama got Kamala Harris placed in her position, and they knew she’d be loyal to them. So they’re probably looking right now to see if they can exploit Biden’s problems to get her to replace him,” Nunes said.
Former Trump administration Deputy Director of National Intelligence Kash Patel also weighed in on the issue, telling Breitbart News that Harris’ silence mirrors Biden’s old boss, former President Barack Obama.
“Kamala Harris’ silence in this entire corruption coverup, along with Obamas, is intentional,” Patel, who also served as the Pentagon Chief of Staff during the Trump administration, said.
“They both want Biden out and are letting their own allies in the media simultaneously expose him and protect their selfish interests,” he added. “It’s no accident.”
